These are the terms you are agreeing to when you book a journey with us. They are written to be read, not to catch anybody out. If anything here is unclear, call us and ask.
Who we are
Wombles Wheels is a private hire business run by Robin Woerner, trading as Wombles Wheels, of 63 Adkinson Avenue, Rugby, Warwickshire CV22 6RQ. We are licensed as a private hire operator by [TO CONFIRM: licensing council], licence number [TO CONFIRM: operator licence number].
Booking
You can book by phone on 01788 811723 or 07979 032068, by WhatsApp, by email, or by sending the enquiry form on this website.
The enquiry form is not a booking. It is a request for a price. You have a booking once we have confirmed it back to you and agreed the price.
Please give us the pickup address, the destination, the date and time, how many passengers there are and how much luggage you have. If any of that changes, tell us as soon as you can.
Prices and payment
We agree a fixed price with you before the journey, and that is the price you pay. It does not change because of traffic or a longer route.
The price can change only if the journey itself changes: a different destination, extra stops, extra passengers or a long wait that was not agreed. If that happens we will tell you the new price at the time.
Payment is due [TO CONFIRM: on completion of the journey / in advance], and we accept [TO CONFIRM: cash, bank transfer, card].
Prices include any tolls and parking unless we tell you otherwise. [TO CONFIRM: whether airport drop-off charges and congestion or clean air zone charges are included.]
Cancelling or changing a booking
You can cancel or change a booking by calling us. If you cancel with at least [TO CONFIRM: 24 hours] notice there is nothing to pay. If you cancel with less notice than that, we may charge [TO CONFIRM: cancellation charge].
If we have to cancel because of a breakdown, illness or something else outside our control, we will tell you as soon as we can, help you find another way to travel where we can, and you will not pay us anything.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Waiting time
For most journeys we allow [TO CONFIRM: 10 minutes] of free waiting time from the booked pickup time. After that we may charge [TO CONFIRM: waiting rate].
For airport and seaport pickups we watch your flight or sailing and adjust to it, and we allow [TO CONFIRM: 45 minutes] from the time you land or dock, to get through immigration and collect your bags. After that, waiting time may be charged.
Passengers and luggage
Tell us how many passengers and how many bags when you book, so we bring the right vehicle. The car takes up to [TO CONFIRM: number] passengers and [TO CONFIRM: number] suitcases. We may not be able to carry you if more people or luggage turn up than we were told about.
Children must travel in an appropriate child seat where the law requires it. Tell us when you book and we will [TO CONFIRM: provide one / ask you to bring your own].
Assistance dogs are always welcome. Other animals are [TO CONFIRM: by arrangement].
Smoking and vaping are not allowed in the vehicle.
Parcel delivery
Parcels travel with one driver, from collection to delivery, and are not left unattended.
Please tell us what is in the parcel. We cannot carry anything illegal, dangerous, perishable or prohibited, including [TO CONFIRM: list any exclusions, for example live animals, hazardous goods, cash].
Our liability for a parcel is limited to [TO CONFIRM: value limit, and whether goods in transit insurance is held]. If your item is worth more than that, tell us before we collect it so we can agree cover.
Getting you there on time
We will take reasonable care and skill in carrying out the journey, and we will do everything we sensibly can to get you where you are going on time.
We cannot promise a journey time. Traffic, weather, roadworks and accidents are outside our control. For flights, sailings and appointments, please allow sensible extra time, and talk to us if you are not sure how much that is.
Our responsibility to you
We do not limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
Otherwise, our liability to you is limited to the price of the journey, and we are not responsible for indirect losses such as a missed flight, a missed connection or a lost booking, unless the loss was caused by us failing to take reasonable care.
We hold [TO CONFIRM: private hire insurance details, and public liability cover if held].
Your responsibility to us
Please give us accurate details when booking, be ready at the agreed time, and treat the driver and the vehicle with respect.
We may end a journey if a passenger is abusive or behaves in a way that is unsafe. If the vehicle is soiled or damaged, we may charge the cost of cleaning or repair, up to [TO CONFIRM: maximum soiling charge].
Lost property
Anything left in the car is kept safe and logged. Call us on 01788 811723 and we will arrange to get it back to you. We keep lost property for [TO CONFIRM: 28 days], after which it may be disposed of or handed to the police.
Complaints
If something has gone wrong, please call 01788 811723 or email robin.woerner@hotmail.co.uk and we will do our best to sort it out. If we cannot resolve it between us, you can contact our licensing authority, [TO CONFIRM: licensing council].
Your privacy
How we handle your personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
